As a concept designer for many of Techtonica’s machines, I drew inspiration from heavy-duty machinery, Maschinen Krieger, and practical references to real-world counterparts. Each machine had unique design constraints that had to be considered. The goals for each machine were to have an unmistakable silhouette, a unique animation, and a unique verb so they stand apart from each other while supporting their unique port layouts to create interesting factory puzzles for players.
The Conveyor Belt Kit was especially technical because of all it had to communicate to the player while matching the look of the other machines while being performant and showing directionality.
